Therapy List:

Hand Reflexology

Some people may consider hand reflexology to be a new practice but, in fact, both hand- and foot reflexology have been used as part of medical care since as far back as the ancient Egyptian and classic Chinese times. Actually, despite it's lower popularity, hand reflexology is build on similar theories and techniques that are also being used as the foundation of foot reflexology.

The basic assumption used by the reflexologist is that each organ, gland and part of the body is reflected in both the hands and the feet. Stimulation of the so-called 'reflex points' promotes relaxation, improves circulation and encourages the body to heal itself. This explains why hand reflexologists sometimes use the axiom: "Health is at your fingertips!"

Recently, the popularity of hand reflexology has grown with the increase in hand-use intensive activities such as: gaming, key boarding, Blackberrys, and texting, because hand reflexology provides a relieving respite in the hand's busy day. Hand reflexology especially provides a relief from the new stresses technology has placed on our hands.

Hand Massage

Hand Massage – A gentle and relaxing way to release the stresses of everyday life.

Hand massage helps maintain mobility within the fingers and can help ease the pain and immobility of arthritis.

Hand massage is also a good pre treatment for hand reflexology as during the massage ‘hot spots’ can be found that may identify physical problems and enable an early warning system to avoid/ease a progression of symptoms.

Hand massage relaxes the mind and body and provides a quiet relaxing time for you whilst identifying any potential future problems.

Hopi Ear Candles (Thermal Auricular Therapy)

What is Thermal Auricular Therapy?

A deep relaxing, calming and soothing treatment offering real and marked benefits for many problems and conditions associated with the ear, nose and throat areas.

It is believed that the ancient Greeks used ear candles for cleansing, purifying and healing on a spiritual level. Centuries later, the remarkable efficiency of the candles as a physical treatment was discovered.
The Native American Hopi Indians of Arizona have for many centuries, lived in complete harmony with Mother Earth, nature and the seasons. They are renowned for their spirituality and ancient healing arts. It is through their use of the candles that the practice of ear candle treatment has reached the rest of the world.

Both ears are always treated, with the client lying comfortably on their alternate sides. After each candle has burnt (an average time being 10 – 12 minutes each ear), massage of the ear is carried out to stimulate energy and relax points and encourage lymphatic flow.

Then, with the client lying comfortably on their back, massage of the head, face and neck will be carried out if required, to stimulate energy points, increase circulation of blood and lymph, aid the drainage of sinus tubes and promote complete relaxation.

This therapy is extremely relaxing and benefits conditions such as deafness, tinnitus, ear, nose & throat issues, sinus problems, to name just a few.

Indian Head Massage

Indian head massage is based on the ayurvedic system of healing which has been practiced in India for over a thousand years. It provides Indian families with relaxation and healing on a daily basis, as well as playing a part in rituals such as weddings and births, not to mention everyday events like a trip to the barber.

The aim of Indian head massage is to release the stress that has accumulated in the tissues, muscles and joints of the head, face, neck and shoulders.

The client, fully clothed, sits in a chair for the treatment. The therapist uses a range of different movements including application of deep kneading and compression movements over the neck, shoulder and scalp areas. In addition, the therapist will also gently stimulate and stroke pressure points on the face. The session will usually last from twenty to forty-five minutes, and most therapists like their clients to sit quietly for ten minutes once the massage has been completed.

Indian head massage is especially good for relieving stress, tension, fatigue, insomnia, headaches, migraine and sinusitis. Clients report that the experience is deeply calming and relaxing, leaving them feeling energised and revitalised and better able to concentrate.

Indian head massage helps increase joint mobility and flexibility in the neck and shoulders, improves blood circulation and lymphatic flow, frees knots of muscular tension, relaxes connective tissue, and aids in the elimination of accumulated toxins and waste products. It is particularly good for reducing the effects of stress and tension.

Spiritual Healing

own energies to connect, to create a bond with the patient and then the healer will raise their energy levels through that of mediumship until they reach the healing level. Once that level is reached, the healer is a passive vessel for healing to pass through.

The preferred method of healing that is practiced is that there is just one point of contact, usually hands on shoulders, the rest is left to spirit. Spirit are an intelligent force and know where healing has to go.

Spiritual healing treats the person as a whole, it does not treat the symptom, but the cause and the principal behind it is that the energy from spirit connects with the spirit within us all and awakens our inner spirit to the responsibilities it has to the physical body and by awakening/re-awakening this the spirit within us re-aligns the inner energies where dis-ease is present and the body starts to heal itself.

A spiritualist healer never diagnoses or prescribes treatments but always recommends that a patient visits their own doctor as spiritual healing works alongside conventional medicine, not instead of it. Ultimately, in the eyes of the law, the doctor/medical practitioner remains responsible for their patient at all times and as healers, we cannot take over the doctors responsibility.

Healing can be felt by the patient/recipient in many different ways, it can be felt as heat or cold flowing, it can also be felt as a vibration, a tingling, like water rushing through the body, but in all cases it should be a very pleasant, peaceful and relaxing experience.

There are four types/methods of Spiritual healing and these are listed below along with the SNU (Spiritualists’ National Union) description of each one:

Hands on healing or Contact healing

Where the person is present and chooses to have healing by the laying on of hands on the body.

The SNU describes this as: Spiritual healing involving the laying on of hands directly upon the body.

Near to the body healing

This is where the hands are placed within approximately three inches of the body.

The SNU describes this as: Spiritual healing involving the placing of hands within three inches of the body.

Distant Healing

This is where the person is present but has chosen not to have hands on healing, or when you sit in the same room as someone and know that they aren’t well and send out positive thoughts and energy to them.

The SNU describes this as: healing sent by the power of thought to a person physically present but who is not receiving contact healing or near to the body healing.

Absent Healing

This is when a person is not present when healing thoughts or energies are being sent to them, whether they are unable to attend or are unawares that healing has been asked for them.

Many churches and centres have absent healing books where the names of people are put down who need help, healing, thoughts for whatever reason, the condition they are suffering from is NEVER mentioned as in doing so you break patient confidentiality and they may not want people to know what condition they are suffering from.

Absent healing may not be accepted at the time it is sent, in all instances of healing, the spirit within has the choice of accepting or rejecting the healing being sent.

Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."

A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results.

Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.

Curative Hypnotherapy

What you need to know about Curative Hypnotherapy. Hypnosis is nothing more than a deep state of relaxation, happily day-dreaming. It’s just like being comfortable but a bit bored on a long train journey, so you find yourself reliving a special holiday or planning a night out.

Although you may experience some improvement early on in treatment, permanent changes in your condition will only be achieved once the cause has been found and corrected, so it’s important to agree any changes to your current medical treatment with your doctor or hospital.

It is difficult to list all the problems that can be successfully treated with Curative Hypnotherapy, (please get in touch for advice), but the following are examples of some types of commonly treated problems -

Habits and Addictions
Fears and Phobias
Anxiety and Panic Attacks
Eating, digestive and weight problems
